New Classes at the JCC

Good news for those of you who take classes with me at the JCC!

Starting in December, I will be adding two new classes at the Katz JCC in Cherry Hill on Wednesday afternoons. My understanding is that these will be hybrid classes, meaning that you can attend in-person or online. In-person spaces are limited due to ongoing social distancing requirements.

Qigong: I will be offering a second qigong class on Wednesdays at 1 p.m., where we will continue our learning and practice of the 18 qigong Shibashi form. (My proprietary class, the Wise Old Owl qigong, will continue to be taught on Wednesday mornings at 9 a.m. via Zoom.)

Tai chi: I will be offering an advanced tai chi class on Wednesdays at 2 p.m. This class is open to senior students only. As always, senior student status has to do with where you are in your study of the form, and nothing to do with physical age. If you are past the “four corners/Fair Lady Works the Shuttles” in the third paragraph of the Yang 108 long form, I consider you a senior student.

The advanced tai chi class will include study of various competition hand forms as well as weapons forms, including the sword and fan. I am delighted to be able to reintroduce this class!
