Morris Siegel

Tai Chi & Qigong

To me, tai chi is a journey. If you practice the art, you will feel better physically and mentally. And if you do that, you can live a better life.

Morris Siegel teaches tai chi and qigong in southern New Jersey. If you are interested in learning tai chi or qigong, or in scheduling a hypnotherapy or Reiki session, you’ve come to the right place.

Why learn tai chi

Tai chi was originally developed as a means of teaching self-defense skills. The slow, gentle movements of the form help develop focus, balance, proper alignment, and accuracy of movement. The martial applications of the moves are not immediately obvious, and were once taught only to select students.

Tai chi is considered an excellent form of exercise to reduce stress, improve balance and toning, and prevent or decrease many of the less welcome effects of aging. It has been specifically recommended as treatment or exercise for a number of medical conditions, including fibromyalgia, some forms of arthritis, diabetes, COPD, heart failure, and Parkinson’s disease.

Get to know Morris

Morris Siegel holds over 29 years of martial arts training, including continuous study of tai chi and qigong, as well as external arts including Eagle Claw kung fu. Morris has won eight gold medals in international tai chi competitions in Hong Kong and mainland China.

“Tai chi works on slowing and changing how you react to things. Because you practice slowly, you are able to slow down in life—to hear, think about a response, and then respond rather than reacting in a knee-jerk manner.  It is an all-encompassing art that changes you for the better, mentally and physically.”
